Welcome to this programme which works with an ancient Sufi story, adapted to a modern form, which can be used for psycho-spiritual development, and which has also been used for the past forty or so years as a way of preparation for a peaceful transition at death into the next world.
The story of the Seven Valleys appears first in literature in the eleventh century in Persia, in a book of mysticism entitled The Path that the Devotee has to traverse in order to reach the Garden of the Lord of the Universe , which describes a journey through seven valleys to eventually reach Paradise. This book was written by the renowned Sufi mystic Al-Ghazzali, who lived from 1058-1111.
In the 1970’s, sophrologists began using an adaptation of this story for spiritual development, and to help those who were experiencing anxiety about the end of their lives.
In this programme, you will find a video presentation about the Seven Valleys method as it is used in sophrology, audio recordings of the journey in two different voices, including music by The Mind Orchestra, and reference material.
This programme is offered in conjunction with the book The Seven Valleys by Philip Carr-Gomm & RoMa Johnson. If you have a copy of the book, simply type in the coupon code given in the book when prompted on the purchasing page. This will then give you free access to this online programme.

"The Seven Valleys is a guided journey through our own lifetime of experience. We are given the chance to reflect on all aspects of our life and our way of being in the world. We are invited to see ourselves reflected in this timeless story and in doing so learn to let go of the ideas and identities we grip too tightly. This is a beautiful and powerful mythic journey that can prepare the soul for loosening its binding connection to ego and fly, fly, freely into the light."
- Georgina Langdale, Centre for Nature Connection
"What a wonderful and awe-inspiring journey! Gently stripping away identifications and in a sense separating myself more and more from everything – but in this, quite paradoxically, allowing for the experience of being more deeply a part of the whole once again.”
- Bernhard Reicher, Occultist and Storyteller, Graz, Austria
